1827		Beethoven felt that he was poor but when assets totaled (less money for creditors) = 10,000 Gulden. Nikalaus van Beethoven and friends found among his belongings, pictures of Giulietta and of Antonie along w/ the immortal beloved letter to Antonie in a secret drawer. Schindler destroyed ~260 of the estimated 400 conversation books and made false entries into others as late as 1840 (xvi Wegeler and Ries)
1827	Mar 29	Thursday. The funeral took place 3 days later at the parish church in the Alserstrasse with burial at the Wahinger Cemetery (now a public park) where 20,000 attended. Torchbearers included: Bernard, Bohm, Czerny, Haslinger, Holz, Linke, Schubert, Streicher, Schuppanzigh, Steiner, as well as Grillparzer. [L.Dec p84]. (?? Pallbearers were 8 of Vienna's leading musicians: Eybler, Hummel, Kreutzer, Seyfried, Gansbacher, Gyrowetz, Weigl, & Wurfel??)

1827	June	Quartet op131 published.
1827	June 4	Stephen von Breuning died of hepatitic disease and was burried in the von Vering vault near his lifelong friend, Beethoven. (Steven's son, Gerhard was then 14 years old)
1827	Aug 16	Beethoven's effects were inventoried for a later auction (Nov 5th)
1827	Sept	Quartets op132 and op135 published
1827	Oct 4	Record of Beethoven's estate completed
1827	Nov 5	Beethoven's musical effects were sold at auction.
1828		Therese van Beethoven died.
1831		Rudolph suffered a fatal cerebral hemmorhage while in Baden at age 43 [Nwsltr v7#3 Win'92 p67]
1832	Jan 13	Karl married Caroline Naske of Iglau Ferdinand Ries died in the arms of his family.
1838		Ferdinand Ries died in the arms of his family.
1838	Dec 9	Helene von Breuning died in Coblenz where she had earlier moved to be near Wegeler after living for a time in Cologne near her son Christof.
1839		Ludwig Johann van Beethoven born to Karl and Caroline. He eventually emigrated w/ his wife and child to the US - all traces have been lost. He changed his name to Louis von Hoven entering in the US. [See Nwsltr v8#3/V9#1 p83]
1841	June 13	Eleonore (von Breuning) Wegeler died. Nikalaus Johann van Beethoven died.
1847		Therese Brunswik entered into her diary: "...Beethoven! It seems like a dream that he was the friend, the intimate of our house -- a stupendous spirit! Why did not my sister J., as the widow Deym, accept him as her husband? She would have been happier than she was with St(ackelberg). Maternal love caused her to forgo her own happiness. 1848		Nikalaus Johann van Beethoven died.
1848	May 7	Frannz Wegeler died in Coblenz.
1852 ~		Hermine (Minnie) van Beethoven born. Eventually married Herr Axmann in Vienna, she died soon after at age 35 years old on 3/17/1887 3rd child of Karls and Caroline's married Herr Weidinger, a bank offical in Vienna; died in Vienna 1919 at old age;had 2 sons. 4th child - later Frau Gabriele Heimler born 1844 lived & died in Vienna; had 1 son who became guardian of family souvenirs.
1858	Apr 13	Karl died in Vienna at age 52 after an apparent happy family life with a wife and children & after a successful service career.
1864	Jan 10	Anton Schindler died.
1868	????	Johanna van Beethoven died.
1874	????	Gerhard von Breuning, a respected physician in Vienna, published his book: Aus dem Schwarzspanierhaus (From the House of the Black Spaniard) chronicalling Beethoven's last years. [In English: Memories of Beethoven; Cambridge University Press]
1891		Caroline Naske died in Iglau.
1892	May 6	Gerhard von Breuning died at age 78.
1893	Jun 1	Stephan von Breuning's remains were moved to the Zentral-friedhof cemetary in Vienna; von Breuning family vault.
1893	June 21	Ludwig van Beethoven's remains were moved to Zentral-friedhof in Vienna - a great resting place for musicians where he lays side by side with Schubert.
