Why has the Israeli government ordered massive violence against the Palestinian people of Gaza? Is it simply that Hamas in Gaza are crazed, violence prone people who have no regard for life and have an unquenchable thirst for killing Israeli citizens? Or are the Palestinian people of Gaza and the West Bank being brutalized on a daily basis - being driven to dispair. The violence they experience is sometimes subtle, sometimes not, but is always present, every day of every year. Israel has stacked the deck: drive these people to act, then claim their actions justify a one-hundred to one response, with bombs raining from the sky on the heads of Palestinian children in that crowded, embargoed, and poverty stricken place.
