In 1988 the Palestinian People recognized Israel within the 1949 Armistice (Green Line) boundaries. Palestine retains a claim to all lands illegally held by Israel after that date. Israel continues to refuse formal definition of its territorial boundaries and continues to illegally occupy additional land taken during the 1967 war.
