PS.
I
am not asking you to visit me, my highly honoured friend, nor
suggesting any rendez-vous, because I don't want you to find yourself
in the embarrassing position of being unable or unwilling to keep
the appointment - In short, I am asking nothing whatever - save
that you should do me the kindness, firstly, of writing to London,
and, secondly, of procuring for me a few really good, sound and
strong quills. Please ad the cost of these quills to the account
which, as you know, I have been wanting you to send me for a long
time - and which I now really insistently demand from you - My
servant will enquire about this at your place tomorrow morning;
if it cannot be arranged as early as tomorrow, then the day after
tomorrow - or even later - My friendship must not interfere in
any way with your easy-going manner of living.
Your
admirer
L.
