To Heinrich Joseph von Collin
Vienna, March, 1808

Anderson v1 pg186-187 - letter #165

My dear Prince, My worthy brother,

I am satisfied with this arrangement, that is to say, provided that in some way or other I shall be given some kind of written guarantee about the 2000 gulden for the opera - I gladly give up the day in the theatre, although I am convinced beforehand that during the present year also those days will be given only to worthless people. As for the Redoutensaal, well, I must think over that suggestion more carefully -

My dear Prince, my worthy brother, all good wishes. Betake yourself in the meantime to Your Excellency's royal poetical country and I will concern myself no less with my own realm of music - My colic is better - But my poor finger had to undergo yesterday a drastic nail operation. When I wrote to you yesterday it looked very angry. Today it is quite limp with pain.

NB. I can't go out yet, not today. But I hope to go to H[artl] tomorrow.
